Panasonic HDX900
This is our in-house camera, a full 2/3″ DVCPRO HD camcorder recording pristine 100Mbps HD images in any of 11 video formats, encompassing 60Hz and 50Hz production for NTSC and PAL. A solid tool used extensively in sports production, cable shows and reality TV. We couple this with the Convergent Design nanoFlash, allowing us the versatility of full digital recording. We can shoot on tape, CompactFlash cards or both simultaneously.

Panasonic Varicam
Designed as a high quality production camera, this native 720p DVCPRO HD camcorder can be used for 60-fps or the film-like 24-fps acquisition. As the name implies, it is also capable of variable frame rates used for special effects like slow-motion.

Panasonic HPX2000
The HPX2000 is the first P2 HD shoulder-mount camcorder. The camera holds up to five P2 cards and offers continuous recording in a total of 17 high definition and standard definition formats, including 24p.

Tampa Freelance Videography was an early adopter of this camera, taking a chance to buy it for a special shoot in Mexico. We’ve been delighted with it ever since. This camera is in the XDCAM family because it is fully digital, but records onto the SxS Express Memory Cards, offering nearly continuous recording when switching media between it’s two slots. The EX1 also delivers stunning HD images in a small form factor.

This camera is becoming more popular in news gathering scenarios which require a top-notch HD camera and the security of having the archive-able master in your hand at shoot’s end on the Sony Optical Disc.

Sony PDW-F350
An earlier XDCAM model offering the same security of the Sony Optical Disc, recording in either 35 Mbps, 25 Mbps and 18 Mbps depending on the desired picture quality and recording length. A dual format camcorder, it can also record in DVCAM mode at 25 Mbps.

Sony F900 CineAlta
This camera has been an HD workhorse and continues to be in demand for tape-based operations. Sony continues it’s support for the HDCAM format, really being the only major player continuing to introduce tape-based products. The results are superb in their quality.

- Continuous recording time of up to 50 minutes (24P mode)
- capable of capturing images at 24/25/30 frame progressive or 50/60 interlace at 1080 resolution
