Lighting

Lights, camera, action. Lights come first and this is the page to explore them.

KINO FLO Barfly

is the first light kit on the set.  These fluorescent lights provide soft interview light, with quick and easy set-up, a small footprint and we keep the subject cool with no heat output.  They’re versatile too, with either tungsten or daylight color temperature lamps.

CHIMERA soft boxes

are also used in the interview set-up, giving the soft look necessary for interview subjects and talent.  These provide a diffused spread and are flattering on faces.

ARRI FRESNELS

are used for “painting” with light.  They give total, precise control of the light when highlighting and creating mood.  These tungsten lights are workhorses and should be in every quality light kit.

K5600 HMI light

is crucial when working in the Florida sun.  These versatile, daylight-balanced HMIs give your talent or subject the right, professional look even under harsh high-noon conditions. No raccoon eyes or glaring reflectors.  We have a set of 200W and 400W heads, providing live location shots to many broadcast correspondents here and in the Caribbean sun.

LED

On board light, or camera light should be natural and soft.  The LitePanels MicroPro LED gives a soft, dimmable output to fill in the subject’s face without overpowering.
